Decorating for a girl – your daughter, in particular – is easier than most other design jobs because young girls typically like a wide variety of colors and styles. Whether you want to turn the room into a simulated forest or a fairytale castle, a properly decorated room should make your daughter very happy indeed. It’s all a matter of getting all the right details in and capturing the correct ambiance that your little girl will appreciate.

Beachy themes are very popular, especially if you live very near a seashore or a body of water. It’s very easy to design and will surely be a hit with a girl who loves the outdoors and the water. Ocean themes can be done with a light blue or blue-green for the walls and a neutral color near beige for the floor. This should simulate the water and the sand of the real thing.

First, is the beach and outdoor theme. Nature plays a significant role for young girls who love to spend their time outdoors. Thus, if your little girl is one of these girls, you can decorate her bedroom using the colors of nature – greens, blues, white, reds, yellows, browns, etc. Just look around and you’ll get inspired by the abundance of colors everywhere. Ask your daughter which appeals to her the most. If she likes the ocean, you can use blues and greens. If she likes the sunset, you can use oranges and pinks. If she enjoys family vacations to the countryside, you can use colors found in the fields and flowers.

Second, is the stars and moon theme. This is an interesting design for girls as this is commonly associated with a boy’s room. However, you can still make the design very feminine with brighter colors and light strokes on the walls. Painting the ceiling a midnight blue will also give the bedroom a more realistic impression of being out in the vast night sky. If your daughter has a favorite star, you can paint it on the wall or the ceiling for a more personal touch.

Flowers will never go wrong in a girl’s eyes. Decorating the bedroom with floral prints, flower arrangement, lots of flower colors and sunflower-shaped rugs or rugs designed with flower arts will certainly give your daughter her own paradise.

Outdoorsy, nature-loving girls will also be sure to love a room themed to a big sweeping landscape. The most important part of this theme will be a painting or a decal of a large grassy field or plain, preferably with a nature scene going on somewhere. You can then use other design items that either match colors to the ones in the painting or are done in basic earth tones, giving a very grandiose yet relaxing look to the room.

Last in this list is the Barbie theme. They say girls undergo the Barbie phase while growing up and it’s part of almost every girl’s life (I can vouch for that). If your daughter is a Barbie collector, then this theme is perfect! Have a glass-cased cabinet for displaying her collection. Use colorful beddings, artworks and Barbie-like furnishings to complete her bedroom. Doesn’t Barbie have a comfy couch, oversized chair and fancy dresser? You don’t have to load her bedroom with all these, especially if the space doesn’t permit it. Your little one can choose a favorite piece and make it as the room’s centerpiece.

In closing, whatever theme your girl will have for her bedroom, don’t forget the very handy area rugs to decorate the room. The design won’t be complete without these attractive floor decors. Go for rugs that complement the room’s color and design. And of course, with area rugs, lounging on the floor will be an ultra comfortable time for your little girl.

If you found this information about Home Design helpful, then you are bound to adore these girls rugs.

We are always looking for something that helps to improve our lives. Out of many ways, we are going to talk about Feng Shui tips and how they can help to improve. Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese principle which was believed to help and improve love life and health of those who follow its rules.

Today we are discussing about Feng Shui Bedroom Tips and how it can help to attain good and positive environment in your bedroom.

Create a Clean and Clutter-Free Room

Feng Shui is an old Chinese practice and it says that the people get lucky if they have clean and uncluttered room. In their practice, it is believed that there is a ‘chi’ which flows in the room. The term ‘chi’ is for negative or positive life force. When the energy flows in the room, clutters are believed to block the flow or create disturbance in the flow. It is therefore important to have clutter-free room. Under the bed, there should not be any cabinets or drawers, and you should not put anything under your bed, it should be free from dirt at all times and should be cleaned regularly. Dirty rooms obviously create an unpleasant environment and stress in your life.

Things to Remove From Your Rooms

In Feng Shui it is believed that you shouldn’t put anything that symbolizes water inside your bed room. Therefore you should never put an aquarium or fountains inside the room. Likewise, you should avoid symbolic pictures such as fierce people or animals inside the room including statues, painting and photographs. Remove them as soon as you can. You will feel more relaxed and peaceful environment once you get rid of such items from your bedroom. The other important thing is you should never put a mirror in your bedroom, not at any cost where you can see yourself on a bed.

It advised to have your bedroom free from electronic home appliances. This includes radios, televisions, computers and other types of electronic appliances. The room is considered best if it has neutral colors like cream, beige, blue and pale green. Color like red will have bad affect on environment of the room. Consider Ying more than Yang because Yang have some negative energies like feeling sleeplessness and restlessness.

The Positioning of Beds

The bed should be placed on the wall without a door of the room. It is bad to put your bed on the wall where the entry door is positioned and it is also not good to lie or sleep on the bed with your feet facing the door. The headboard should be positioned directly contact to the wall. One should avoid putting bed under fans, ceiling beams and beneath windows.

Ways for Lovers and Couples to Benefit from Feng Shui

Based on this practice, do not put stripes inside the room because they may lead to arguments. Instead, put more blue inside for added vitality and youth. Use love symbols like a pair of Mandarin ducks. Never put pictures that represent loneliness such as a statue of a single woman or man. Moreover, adding more touch of pink is also good for your room.

Feng Shui further suggests that your bedroom must not have any stripes because it can lead to an argument. It is good to put love symbols, photos that are not fierce, pictures of couples together and colors like pink in the bedroom. Once you follow these instructions, you will definitely feel different and positive vibration in your bedroom.

You can transform your master bedroom into your dream paradise with the proper remodeling work to make it look current in terms of function and appeal. In addition to this, the manner by which you handle and maintain your master bedroom will have a significant impact on the intrinsic value of your home.

There are several options that you can consider with a budget of $1000 or less.

You can start your remodeling project by focusing on the look that you want to have for your master bedroom. There are some people who prefer to go romantic or even old-world inspired in their overall theme, while others go for a contemporary or hi-tech look. Regardless of your preference in design, there are several important tips and tools that you need to have in order to achieve the desired look of your master bedroom.

Before you start work on the decorations of your master bedroom, you have to paint it first. You may also consider including feng shui in the remodeling equation, as more and more home owners are performing this Chinese art of correct positioning of fixtures and design elements before decorating their dream oasis. When planning the remodeling, you can consider using 2 to 3 colors. The wall just behind your master bed must be painted with warm colors such as pale yellow, light blue or light green. Dark colors are in most cases not appropriate in the master bedroom as they come out a bit too harsh. Ideally, the ceiling must be painted in white.

You can start by purchasing a 5-gallon paint of basic white which normally costs around $25. Check out the tint selections as you may find your desired color choices at very cheap prices. The estimated cost for a complete repainting job of your master bedroom should not go beyond $150.

In order to achieve that romantic element in the overall design, you can use comfortable furniture in that will enhance the atmosphere of a dream personal escape for you and your partner. One of your best picks is a wicker bench which you can position near a large window. You can buy one from your local furniture store for about $100.

One of the best decorating ideas for your bedroom remodel is the placement of the master bed within the sight range of the door, but slightly off to one side. This is consistent with the feng shui requirement, if it is included in your range of considerations in the overall design. Lighting is another critical variable. If the prevailing climate in your place is warm, then it is a good idea that you include a ceiling fan with light in your master bedroom remodel. You can easily find this type of ceiling fan of good quality for just about $100, but it is also wise if you can invest on a high end brand to enhance the overall look and value of your master bedroom.

Your bedroom can also be lighted by fixtures and sconces with commercial theme and these may include pharmacy styles and amiable halogens. These lighting options are more expensive, and their estimated cost is about $400. If you don’t have the competency in installing these lighting fixtures, then you will have to hire the services of an electrician. The going rate of electricians is about $30 to 40. The total budget for your lighting fixtures and labor should not be more than $600.

Do you think cleaning up after your children is a pointless effort? Any mother with one child or five feels the same way. With a few simple ideas and a lot of creative thought, you can design a room for your child that will help them while taking some of the work from you. With a little resourcefulness and design, you could encourage your children to do the cleaning up on their own.

Colors are every kid’s language. Use your little one’s favorite colors and set aside areas of their room to organize their belongings. Get your kid’s to pick various colors for various areas. Little boys could pick different colors than little girls, so be willing to experiment. A new look doesn’t mean shelling out cash for new furniture. Give your old furniture a new lease on life by making it a family painting project. Buy a few cans of paint and involve your children in giving their room pieces a fresh new look.

Your young ones furniture shouldn’t look like your own. Keep in mind that a kid’s idea of design isn’t all lines and squares. Incorporate other patterns and designs to your child’s room. Kids’ storage furniture now come in a whole line of forms and patterns that makes it fun for the little ones to pack up on their own. Take note of their books and TV shows and use ideas from these to make their rooms relevant and fun.

Most of the time, we forget that there is a lot of space to be utilized right above our heads. A little bit of shopping at your local hardware store for some hooks, string and wire will add a unique and cheery twist to their sleeping area. Imagine shoes hanging neatly in a cloth organizer hung from the ceiling. A simple bulletin board with colorful straps can be the home of your offspring’s schoolwork and drawings. Toys in a forgotten pile on the floor can be hung with cheap hooks on the wall for an interesting but easy-to-access display.

Make it easier for you and your child and label all your storage containers. Labeling can help your child remember where everything goes and saves you the trouble of always telling them to put things away in their proper place. Fabric paint, stickers and commercial label makers will go a long way in labeling their laundry bins, toy organizers, school desk, even their closets.

Storing and organizing your children’s belongings doesn’t have to be a stressful event. Getting your children into the exercise is also a learning experience that encourages creativity, builds responsibility and boosts their confidence.

When you are searching for 3 drawer cart be sure to visit this latest web page. This writer has also made available information on finding good stackable storage bins

A bed with a wooden bed frame is far better and far stronger than a bed with a metal bed frame. This is because metal bed frames are very prone to rusting, warping, and bending due to constant usage. They also tend to be squeaky. The wood frames, on the other hand, are very sturdy and hard solid.

They’ve the capability to last for several years, and even much longer if cared for correctly. They may actually last until the future generations. They just have to be cleaned nicely with a sponge and soapy water at least once every year. And with regular dusting, the wood frames will be well preserved.

In addition to this, when the wood bed frame has just been purchased, its owner is advised to ask the manufacturer about the proper ways to take care of the furniture and what kind of wood was used to make it. Some wooden types such as plywood may look good; however, it’s not really sturdy enough to last for a long time.

Particleboards are not good materials either because they’re weighty and weak. But oak and pine wood are splendid. They’ll make great options because they’re durable too. Although there might be small drawbacks such as the heaviness of the oak wooden, they may be compensated because of the magnificent styles they offer.

Wood bed frames may also be painted with colorful paint or varnish for an added splendor. Other people are in doubt of using wood frames in their modernly designed bedrooms because they think that such furniture will simply not fit in. However, this is not true because a wood frame may look classy when correctly blended with the apt decorations and ornaments. Modern interior decorations may be combined and incorporated with the classic feel of the wooden bed frames for a much more stylish and unique ambiance.

The author has written more about metal frame queen bed and metal frame bed on his site, check them out: metal frame queen bed and http://www.metalframebed.net/full-storage-bed.

Small bedrooms must not be boring. Color is excellent for creating an interesting and very attractive space without overwhelming the limited area of a small bedroom. It is, however, important to limit the colors but use them in different variations throughout the room design.

It is very easy to create a superb small bedroom by concentrating on one pair of complementary colors. Complementary colors consist of two hues that are opposite each other on the color wheel. An example would be blue and orange, which, incidentally, are also excellent for a bedroom. Blue enlarges space and orange adds cheerful highlights.

In order to ensure that these complementary colors work well together, it is important to remember that blue has a tendency to recede. This is the reason it makes rooms appear larger. Orange projects itself forward. In order to balance the colors, so that orange does not overwhelm the blue and make it almost disappear, it is a advisable to use only one third the amount of orange to two thirds of blue for a color arrangement.

Both blue and orange have lovely lighter shades, which are actually much better for decorating a small bedroom. Orange has great shades of apricot and warm beige tones which look excellent combined with all nuances of blue. These are not as overwhelming as the fully saturated orange and can be used more liberally in combination with blue.

For the small bedroom, it would be advisable to use blue for the walls because it opens up space, making rooms appear larger. Orange could be included as an accent in its full saturation to create sparkle, or its lighter shades, beige and apricot, could be added more liberally to emanate elegance. There are many textiles available, such as bed linen and curtains, which include both blue and orange in their pattern design. Artists love this color combination and have created great pictures using only orange and blue. Therefore, it is easy to apply this color scheme throughout the room.

There are various complementary pairs, such as green and red, purple and spring green or violet and yellow, which can be applied in the same way as the example of blue and orange. The advantage of staying within complementary combination of two colors, is that you can create a much stronger impact for a small bedroom or any other living space. This is an easy and affordable way to add character and style to a living space.

Coming home to a place you call your home sweet home is a relief from the stress of the world outside your personal haven. Seeing a place that is filled with things you love and which offer comfort to you is a definite stress-buster at its best.

However, while most homeowners are aware of the serenity afforded by a neat, tidy and made-up bed, not everyone is keenly attuned to styling their bed so it is comfortable and stylish without being overly fussy.

Styling a bed is fuss-free. It doesn’t cost much either. Some key items and the right color can transform this furnishing into an instant beauty.

Following the latest trend or sticking to the traditional are both attractive looks for your bed and the bedroom as a whole. It would really depend on how interested you are with fashion and the current. Nevertheless, using materials and accents that will look great with the rest of the furnishings in the room is the priority.

In many ways, fashionable home decor and ensuring style features for your bed are similar to choosing your wardrobe i.e. this has to be in tune with your personality.

Read on to learn some simple yet effective ways to beautify your bed, which inevitably will improve your bedroom’s look as well.

Pay close attention to the style of mattress you pick for your bedroom and purchase a protective cover for it to keep it from getting dirty, stained and worn out too soon. Buying classic prints or plain materials with organic weaves mixed with synthetic fibers will ensure your mattress covers need washing only once in 2 months. Moreover, if you team these with fine quality bed sheets in natural fabrics for duvets, it will ensure more zzz’s with soft and easy to maintain linen. However, remember to pick a duvet size that is just right for your mattress, not too loose around or too low on the bed skirting for then it’ll only look slapdash.

Match the color or design of the beddings with the rest of the room. Going with the theme is creating a well-coordinated bedroom. If you’re up for a regular change in looks, use beddings that are suitable for the season. Winter being a cold time requires denser materials and the color at this time gears towards the dark and deep hues. For now, the spring season calls for the sight of nature. Pastels, floral, and light colors are perfect for a spring decor.

Placing an area rug at the foot of the bed or beside the bed will make it more attractive. Waking up to the feel of lush fabric on your feet is heavenly. Even sitting down on the floor is not at all bad. Choose an area rug that just like the beddings, go well with the color of the room. Your bed will be the most beautiful throne there is.

If you found this information about Interior Bedroom Decorating useful, then you are bound to adore these colored flokati rugs.

A small bedroom can be a big problem, especially when considering how important this space is to your psychological and emotional well being. This is the space where you should feel most comfortable, a place where you should be able to stretch out and relax. If your bedroom is cramped however, it can leave you feeling claustrophobic, and can lead to problems with sleeping, living, and working. Luckily there are a variety of solutions that can help you to make even the tiniest bedroom feel bigger and more luxurious.

First of all, if you don’t have a lot of room, you shouldn’t have a lot of stuff. It is important to restrict your possessions to what you actually have the space for. The more clutter you accumulate in your tiny bedroom, the smaller it will look. To increase the feeling of space, try becoming a minimalist. The fewer items you have cluttering up the room, the more room you will appear to have.

Aside from being uncluttered, you should also try to keep the space tidy. Chaos in generals takes up more room than order. When things are neatly put away in their proper place, the room will feel more efficient, more perfect, and the space between your possessions will be more visible.

Color is another space tool you can use. In general dark colors collapse in on a room, making it feel smaller and cozier. In a small bedroom, you should try to use light colors so that the walls recede from one another, making the illusion of space. This is particularly true when it comes to wall color, although it can also be applied to decorative pieces.

Another trick is to use mirrors to create the illusion of space. When you look into a mirror, it’s like peering past a window into another entire world. That world has its own dimension, its own space, and its own layout, which can double visual appearance of the space in your bedroom.

Just because your bedroom is tiny doesn’t mean it has to be uncomfortable. There are a variety of methods that you can employ to create the illusion of space. The important thing is that you do whatever you can to make yourself feel at peace in this space.

Building something has a great satisfaction to it and probably no more than building your own bed. If you have never built one before, or even if you have, it can be a tricky job to do. It truly is a job that can not be rushed as it has to be sturdy enough to sleep on in comfort. Listed below are a set of instructions on how to build a bed. They are easy to follow and will allow you to have a hand built bed in a short time from now.

• Get yourself some bed rail hangers, wood and wood screws. If bed rail hangers are a problem then you can use eight long lag bolts instead. Get these from your local hardware store. Also take the plans of your bed as the store owner should be able to give you some advice as well.

• If the wood that you have found is not the size that you want it then either get it cut to size or do it yourself.

• Review your plan as now you should have everything you need to make the bed. Firstly secure the bed rail hangers to the end of the side rail of the bed and the head posts. Repeat this for all four corners.

• Once you have done that then screw the support rail to each side rail. Space you screws so that all areas are supported equally. Space them about 12 inches (30cms) apart is quite acceptable.

• Secure each support and block to the centre of the head and foot rail using the screws.

• These support blocks will need grooves cut into them so they can be fitted together with the support beams. Once this is done they can be connected with the support beams.

• Nearly there. Finish off by placing a piece of ply wood on the support rails and the support beam. Make sure it fits comfortably but that it does not need forcing is too slack in the bed frame. Now simply add the mattress and the bedding and the job is done.

Simple and easy to follow instructions to have your own custom made bed. This is a basic construction of the four sides, legs centre support beam, struts to lay between the sides and the centre support beam and finished off with a snug fitting piece of ply wood.

Woodworking for the home is satisfying to the soul and something to be proud of. As it is my passion I want to share it with you at my site.

Every mother to be wants a nest built with love, but most, especially new mothers, don’t have a clue when it comes to decorating a baby nursery. Chances are that you are going to have some questions like, “What colors should my nursery be?”, “What is the best theme for baby?”, and “What about safety for baby?”. This is to be expected and is usually a good start. In this article my aim is to give some answers to these questions so you can build a baby nursery that will be perfect for your little bundle of joy. When decorating baby’s nest I find the best place to begin our journey is to first decide on the colors, which lead to our theme, and are followed up with baby safety.

The foundation of your baby nursery is built first with the selection of your colors. There has been a ton of research done about what colors a baby needs to be surrounded with for the most benefit. Put yourself in baby’s shoes for a moment and think about all the new things that you will be introduced to and all the different colors that come along with it. Soothing and calming colors are better than bold and exciting. We don’t want to overload baby and give a bad first impression. This isn’t to say that bold and exciting cannot be used to bring a little flair to the room. In fact, using a bold color is fine to use on things like trim or an accent wall. Just don’t over do it.

Colors may have psychological advantages and disadvantages to baby’s mind and development. We want to use colors that will enhance baby’s senses instead of confusing them. Now this may sound like over kill, but why make things difficult for the little tike. Remember, baby is a sponge soaking in everything around. Let’s look at two colors and what their impact may be on baby’s mind.

Red may not be what you are looking for. At least not as a primary color. Red is a color that stimulates emotion. It has been known to increase the heart beat and breathing. If you must use Red in your baby nursery decor, consider using it only as an accent.

White is a wonderful color to use in your baby nursery decor. White symbolizes purity and innocence. What better way to represent a new life on earth? The added bonus of white is that it is a neutral color and goes with everything.

There are many reasons why you want to use a theme in your nursery decor, but the main reason is for baby’s first learning experience in the world. When deciding on a theme you should always have baby’s best interest in mind and not your own. When shopping around for themes you may think some things are a bit corny or over the wall silly, but the simplicity of the themes is want you want to look for, not what you personally like or dislike. This allows baby to focus on just a few objects that are simple in nature and is a great unobtrusive start in allowing baby’s brain to develop. Animals, butterflies, frogs, and nature are good places to start and are great themes to expand upon later. You could even go with simple shapes and patterns and build into nature at a later time.

So now lets get started and build this little nest from the ground up, but wait! We forgot the most important thing to plan before we jump in. There are so many horror stories of mishaps that happen in the nursery due to not baby proofing. Now is the perfect time to start doing things like buying a crib with safety features, removing small items that came with your theme like buttons that could be choked on, and finally covering all places where little fingers could come in contact with electricity. Also consider a baby monitor so you can hear baby’s cries or lack there of. Better safe today then sorry tomorrow.

In closing, remember you have many things to plan before decorating your baby’s nursery. Keep it simple and begin with selecting soft, soothing colors. Themes are meant for baby and not you so keep them simple in design so baby isn’t confused. Finally, remember that your baby’s safety is in your hands, so baby proof everything.

Do you smoke? Second hand smoke can be very unhealthy for baby. Learn how to quit smoking right now.
